'Huawei': A foreshadowing name?

Chinesepod's Carlie discusses the meaning of the name 'Huawei' in light of the recent national security concerns of the Whitehouse

Justin Bieber is sporting a new do and even he’s not sure if it’s a good look. The Biebs has shown us tons of different styles over the years and took to Instgram on April 3 to share his most recent, which this time happens to be dreadlocks. He captioned the picture of his new hairdo with the word “Why.” So it remains a mystery if he likes it or not.

The reactions to his hairdo on social media have been mixed, with some voicing how much they dislike the look on him to other Beliebers saying that Justin can do no wrong. At the iHeart Radio Music Awards on Sunday, the 22-year-old was accused of “cultural appropriation.” The New York Daily News noted that backstage, however, Bieber defended his look and told rapper Big Sean, “[People say] you wanna be black and all that stuff, I’m like ‘its just my hair.’” Last year, the popstar defended Kylie Jenner when she was accused of “culture appropriation” for wearing her hair in braids. “Guys leave her alone, we’re all trying to figure it out and she happens to be under a microscope!” Bieber wrote on social media. “I’m the first to know this. BUt saying she’s being racist because she wants her hair in braids is ridiculous. Let’s focus on the bigger picture and instead of fighting over something stupid let’s do something about equality, but it doesn’t start here blasting a 17-year-old kid for wearing braids smh.”
