Caitlyn Jenner can count President Obama among her droves of supporters. He praised the former Bruce Jenner for having the courage to transition into the woman she always considered herself to be following her big debut on the cover of Vanity Fair.
Jenner appears on the July cover, which has received a ton of support. She even made a Twitter page and broke the record for gaining the most followers in the shortest amount of time - surpassing the president himself.
“Another Jenner world record, and at 65? Who'da thought!” she tweeted. “Humbled & honored to have reached 1M followers in 4 hrs.”
In response to Jenner’s first tweet, Obama replied, “It takes courage to share your story.”
He then provided a forum for members of the LGBT community, asking them to share their story on his website. “Stories are the most powerful way to measure success in the fight for LGBT equality. Share why you're proud to fight and what progress means to you,” a message reads, with the president tweeting with it, “your story matters.”
It takes courage to share your story. https://t.co/Q7wWjV9Rxx
