Several small earthquakes hit Northern, Southern California

Several small earthquakes struck parts of both Northern and Southern California on Wednesday.

The Associated Press noted that the small tremors hit areas east of Los Angeles in the Southern part of the state and areas near San Francisco in Northern California.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the largest of the quakes measured 3.9 on the Richter scale. It was centered near Hemet, which is about 85 miles away from LA.

KABC reported that an aftershock occurred in that same area just a few hours later.

Earlier in the day, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Corona. Residents in several communities including Anaheim, Beaumont, Perris and Santa Ana all said they felt shaking. That quake was the third to hit the area on Wednesday.

Yet another trembler shook the city of Concord, which is located 25 miles away from San Francisco. It has a magnitude of 3.5.

As previously reported, these small quakes happened less than a week after a 3.4 magnitude quake rattled residents in Carson, Inglewood, Lakewood, Torrance, Whittier as well as LA.

There have not been any injuries or property damage as a result of the tremors.
