Seinfeld star Jason Alexander is taking credit for the discovery of superstar, Taylor Swift, all because of a music video he directed in 2007.
Alexander attended a fundraiser at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre recently and he did an impression of the “Style” singer onstage during a karaoke session.
Afterwards he caught up with TMZ and told the cameraman of Swift, “I put her in her first video.”
Swift appeared in the Brad Paisley video for “Online” alongside former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler. Alexander directed and also stars in it.
When asked if he deserves credit for discovering the “underage” Swift, he said “I don’t have to take credit, I have credit.”
Swift’s success has surpassed all expectations, even switching genres from country to pop. Her latest album 1989 had the biggest opening sales week since 2002, surpassing the sales of Eminem’s The Eminem Show.
