President Obama made one little boy very happy when he walked out of the White House on Saturday to board Marine One. He greeted Luca Martinez, 4, with a fist bump.
Martinez was there on the South Lawn with his father, who’s a photographer for the Associated Press.
President Obama just had to stop and greet him because he was wearing goggles and superhero costume. He was wearing the goggles to protect himself from the helicopter.
WRIC reports it was the second time Martinez was able to see Marine One up close, which flies over their home frequently.
He told reporters it was an exciting moment but at the time, he didn’t seem too rattled by it. Maybe he needed some time for it to sink in.
ABC News reports Martinez later referred to President Obama as the “President of Washington.”
Just a few days ago, President Obama made headlines for another cute interaction, but it was with a sixth grade moderator at his Q&A session.
