Nick Loeb is continuing his public objection to ex-fiance Sofia Vergara’s desire to keep the embryos they created together frozen indefinitely, appearing on the Today Show Thursday morning to further his case. Meanwhile Vergara appeared on Good Morning America to make her own case.
Loeb has filed a lawsuit against the Modern Family star, published a New York Times op/ed and he’s now taking his case to television.
He sat down with Hoda Kotb, where he defended himself against the public perception that he just won’t move on from his ex.
"We actually signed these forms way at the very beginning, before all the process happened," he said in response to her comments on Howard Stern this week. "You know, none of the forms really discuss what would happen in the event of a separation."
Vergara is adamant that the contract they signed stands, saying it would be “selfish” to raise kids when the parents are not together and not even getting along.
Loeb denied several times that he’s doing this for publicity or to hold on to his relationship with Vergara, saying this is a “moral, legal, ethical” issue and nothing else.
He has maintained keeping the embryos frozen is “tantamount to killing them.”
Vergara appeared on GMA to tell her side of the story, saying her ex is being an opportunist and using her for publicity.
“I promote all my movies, all my work, but I don’t like promoting my private life and I don’t understand why this person — I don’t want to allow this person to take more advantage of my career and try to promote himself and get press for this,” she explained, saying this is the last time she will speak publicly on the matter.
