Lindsay Lohan has a lot of community services hours to put in before the end of the month and instead of carrying out the court-mandated hours in London, she’s moving back to New York to complete them.
She will work with preschoolers at the Duffield Children’s Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, starting Tuesday after a judge threatened she will likely go back to jail if she doesn’t finish the 125 hours she was ordered to re-do.
As we previously reported, when Lohan tried to log in hours of meet-and-greets with fans as community service, the judge ordered her to redo the hours. These hours aren’t required to be finished until May 28 but during a progress hearing last week, prosecutors claimed she wasn’t taking it seriously since she has completed less than 10 of the hours so far.
Daily News reports a judge approved her request to carry out the rest of her hours in Brooklyn.
Lohan took to Instagram to share with fans that she’s back in the Big Apple, saying she “missed” it while living in the UK.
"Happy to be home in nyc with my family and friends. Missed this place. ready to help,” she wrote.
Prosecutors will request jail time if she doesn't complete the hours by May 28.
