Bette Midler is commenting on the scandal surrounding 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar, calling it ironic that he was an anti-gay activist.
She took to Twitter on Monday to comment on Duggar’s resignation from the Family Research Council in the wake of the allegations coming to light.
“Josh Duggar resigned from an anti-gay ‘family’ group due to molestation allegations,” she wrote. “Kids, is there anything more delicious than irony?”
Josh himself confirmed the child molestation rumors were true when he released a statement calling his actions “inexcusable.”
His parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, said in their own statement that the incident “caused us to seek God like never before.”
Since then, Mike Huckabee has defended Josh and his family and Josh’s sister Jessa’s father-in-law Michael Seewald has defended him as well.
