Yoko Ono offers kind words about John Lennon's first wife, Cynthia, following her death

Following the death of John Lennon’s first wife, Cynthia Lennon, his second wife, Yoko Ono, has offered words of support.

As we previously reported, Cynthia died at the age of 75 at her home in Mallorca, Spain, following a short battle with cancer.

Cynthia and the late Beatles singer shared one child, Julian Lennon. Ono asked that fans join her in “sending love & support” Julian’s way on Twitter.

She posted a photo of herself with Cynthia, Julian as well as her own son with John, Sean Lennon.

On her website Imagine Peace she also wrote, “I’m very saddened by Cynthia’s death. She was a great person and a wonderful mother to Julian. She had such a strong zest for life and I felt proud how we two women stood firm in the Beatles family. Please join me in sending love and support to Julian at this very sad time.”

Paul McCartney and George Harrison also extended their condolences to Julian, admiring what a wonderful woman his mother was.
