It’s hard to imagine it’s been over 12 years since convicted killer Scott Peterson killed his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn child. This week will mark 10 years that Peterson has been on death row, which has reignited media interest in the case.
Geraldo Rivera hosts a one-hour special on this case called Geraldo Rivera Reports: Scott Peterson 10 Years on Death Row, which features an interview with Peterson’s former mistress Amber Frey.
Rivera claims Peterson is living a cushy life behind bars in California and it doesn’t look like he will ever be executed.
“He's living in luxury. Unlocked cell door, plays basketball every day with his friends, strums the guitar,” Rivera said during an appearance on Fox and Friends while promoting the special.
“He lives the life of Riley on death row. They have cookouts. It is amazingly obscene," he continued.
Rivera noted an execution hasn’t taken place since 2006 in the state of California so it’s likely Peterson will die of old age in jail.
Peterson is still trying to on appeal his death sentence, arguing it was not an aggravated murder since his son had not been born yet.
