Kerry Washington did whatever she could to ensure her pregnancy was as private as possible and even made sure to tweet while she was in labor in order to avoid media speculation that she was having her baby.
First she managed to fly under the radar with her relationship with her now-husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, then married him in a secret wedding in Idaho in 2013.
She gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Isabelle, in April 2014.
In a new interview with The Edit she said of Scandal she “loaded up pre-tweets based on the episodes and what I would want to say,” but she also “tweeted in the very early stages of my labor.”
Her reasoning? “I figured that if I went completely silent on social media, then people would know I was in the hospital!”
Also in the interview, Washington said if she wasn't an actress she would be a teacher. "It’s what my mother did, so it’s in my blood," she said.
