Ed Sheeran made one lucky couple’s wedding day a whole lot sweeter when he surprised them with a performance of “Thinking Out Loud” for their first dance.
The once-in-a-lifetime moment was orchestrated by KIIS 1065’s Kyle & Jackie O radio show, who heard from the groom about their rocky road to the alter.
Sydney couple Kya and Matt Debono were the recipients of the special day. Not only did they get their $80,000 dream wedding, they got a beautiful performance from Sheeran to boot.
Money was tight for the couple, with Matt unemployed. But things took a turn for the worse when Kya lost her mother to suicide in 2012. Matt thought he would never be able to give his fiancé the wedding she deserved until Kyle and Jackie O stepped in and gave them more than they could imagine.
Sheeran took to Instagram after the wedding and wrote, “Just surprised this lovely couples first dance.”
