One person was killed and three others were injured when a bomb exploded Tuesday in the Egyptian city of Alexandria.
Reuters reported that the blast happened just hours after another bomb went off at Cairo International Airport. There were no
casualties or injuries to report there.
Police discovered additional devices and defused each. One bomb was found near a terminal for international flights and another in the airport’s parking lot.
The victim of the blast in Alexandria was a 27-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy is among the injured.
NBC News noted that the interior ministry said in another incident in Alexandria a Molotov cocktail was thrown onto a train and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood was taken into custody.
Tuesday’s attacks are the latest in a string of several carried out by militants, mostly in the Sinai Peninsula and mostly against police and soldiers.
Alexandria is the second largest city in Egypt behind Cairo with a population of around 4 million.
