The Weeknd, who’s featured on Ariana Grande’s “Love Me Harder” and has two songs on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, was arrested in Las Vegas early Saturday morning.
The R&B singer, born Abel Tesfaye, 24, reportedly punched a police officer in the head as the cop was trying to break up a fight he was in.
According to Las Vegas Review Journal, the arrest report stated he was booked for battery on a protected person charge.
After performing at Drai’s Nightclub in Vegas’ Cromwell boutique hotel, a fight reportedly ensued involving 30 people. Police responded to a call at almost 5am and that’s when the incident occurred.
On Sunday, he tweeted, “escape from las vegas.” He posted the same caption to an Instagram shot of him getting on a plane to leave.
