Authorities said dozens of people were injured during their morning commute when a Maryland Transit Administration van and a city bus collided Wednesday in west Baltimore.
The Associated Press reported that Capt. Roman Clark of the Baltimore Fire Department said the accident occurred just after 7 a.m.
The MTA van was not carrying any passengers at the time, however, there were dozens of passengers on the bus who sustained injuries.
WJZ noted that 30 people were injured in the crash and a little more than half were transported to a local hospital. The drivers of both vehicles were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
There has not been an update on the condition of the passengers hospitalized.
In aftermath of the collision, metal and glass littered the city street as the bus was being towed away.
There is no word yet on what caused the crash, but the transit administration and Baltimore Police Department are continuing to investigate.
