Amal Clooney made her first red carpet appearance as George Clooney’s wife at the Golden Globes on Sunday and she looked every bit the glamorous wife.

Amal wore a black Dior Haute Couture gown with a shoulder train complete with white gloves to accompany her husband, who was given the Cecil B. DeMille award at the event.

Clooney joked about her gloves while on the red carpet, saying “She sewed them this morning. She’s very handy.”

He also told People about staying out of her way when it comes to her dress, “As long as she doesn’t get the train stepped on, I’ve succeeded. I win.”

The human rights lawyer was pleased with this gesture, explaining, “He’s been really good. Really helpful.”

Clooney revealed he wore his wedding tuxedo to the event, but Amal hadn’t even chosen her dress until the night before, E! Online reports.

He also gushed about his bride during his speech, saying, "It's a humbling thing to find someone you love. Even better if you've been waiting your whole life...Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be prouder to be your husband."
