Tyler Perry and his girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, have welcomed their first child; a son named Aman Tyler Perry.
Bekele gave birth on Sunday, Nov. 30, with Aman meaning peace.
“Mom and baby are happy and healthy. Tyler is so excited,” a source close to the longtime couple told People. “He’s over the moon.”
Instead of accepting gifts from loved ones, Perry and Aman, a model, asked in their private birth announcement for donations to Charity Water, which provides clean water to poor countries.
When talking to Extra in September, Perry accidentally revealed the sex of the baby.
“The greatest gift I’m being given right now is the opportunity to give the little boy in me everything I never had, so that’s what I’m excited about,” he said at the time. “This beautiful human being that God has allowed to come into my life for me to get to know, because they come with their own personalities, who they are, to shepherd and usher him.”
He quickly caught on to his slip-up, laughing, “I said ‘him.’”
