Rosario Dawson has adopted a 12-year-old girl, though no other details are known at this time other than the fact that the adoption took place in October.
The Top Five actress, 35, has opened up about her desire to adopt before. She was adopted herself when she was just 1-year-old by her stepfather.
Page Six was the first to report the adoption.
Back in 2008, she told Latina magazine of adopting, “That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I’ve been thinking about it more.”
A source confirmed the adoption to People but her rep wouldn’t comment.
“It struck me recently that one day I might be sitting around with my children, going, ‘Your grandmother was an amazing woman; I really wish you could’ve known her,’” she also told Latina. “That makes me sad because it would be a waste not to have these people know each other. Whatever time I have, I want it.”
Dawson split from director Danny Boyle last year.
