Porsha Williams of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta fame was in jail for a few hours on Monday after getting pulled over for speeding.
After getting booked, Williams posted a $1,726 bond to get out. Cops say she was driving on a suspended license – and going 78 in a 55 – but on her radio show Dish Nation she explained it was a misunderstanding.
“I was headed to visit my grandfather who is very ill with cancer in the hospital, and I was pulled over. I was wrong for speeding absolutely and apologize for putting anyone at risk,” she explained.
Williams continued, “I tried to explain the situation to the officer and show him that all my paperwork was in order, but he refused. Handcuffs are not comfortable or a good look for anyone. I was released, I have my license, my car, and my freedom.”
This is the second time this year Williams has had a run-in with the law. Back in April she turned herself into the police and was charged with battery for attacking her co-star Kenya Moore on the RHOA reunion show. She showed up, posted bond and was released right away.
After the fight, Williams was demoted from a full-time cast member to a friend of the show.
