The ex-wife of billionaire Harold Hamm, Sue Ann Arnall, is apparently not happy with her $1 billion divorce settlement and has appealed Oklahoma County Court Judge Howard Haralson’s ruling.
Her lawyers confirmed on Friday that they would be appealing the settlement, since she believes she’s entitled to half of his $18 billion fortune.
"As Sue Ann has stated previously, 6 percent is not a fair proportion of the wealth the couple accumulated during their marriage, and she trusts that a more equitable division of the marital estate will result from this appeal," her lawyers said in a statement, Yahoo News reports.
In the ruling, Judge Haralson distinguished Hamm’s - the Continental Resources Chief Executive Officer and Chairman - 68 percent stake in the company as “separate property.”
The couple was married for 26 years, during which Continental grew exponentially. However, he did found the company years before they got married.
As we previously reported, Hamm and Arnall have two children together; Jane and Hillary. This was Hamm’s second marriage, as he was previously married to Judith Ann Hamm.
At the time of the judge’s ruling, Hamm’s attorney said “We think this is a fair and equitable outcome of the case.”
