Katie Holmes may try to put her life with Tom Cruise in the rear window, but she doesn’t want to forget about the project that put her on the Hollywood radar: Dawson’s Creek. She certainly knows how important it was for her career.
In a new interview with Elle Canada, the actress reflected on the show and her role as Joey Potter, which she has never completely left behind.
“I don’t know if I have moved past it, but I don’t really care,” Holmes told the magazine. “I had a ball doing it, and it’s really nice to be a part of something that did affect people.”
She adds that the show created major opportunities for her and her co-stars like James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson. “You can’t really ask for much more than that,” she said.
While she embraces Dawson’s Creek, she doesn’t dwell on it and her other successes. “I just keep going,” she said.
Holmes has been consistent in recent interviews, telling magazines that she’s always looking to the future. Back in August, she told the Today Show that she never really looks back and doesn’t think about her past with former husband Tom Cruise. The couple share a daughter, Suri, who is now 8.
“I take it one day at a time. I’m really excited about where I am now,” Holmes said in August.
Holmes recently appeared in The Giver and Miss Meadows. She will next be seen in Woman in Gold.
