Celebrities aren’t the only ones who like to come up with unique names for their children. Many others like to have fun and in the case of Jack Daniels Leathers, he had the perfect fun name for his son.
Jack, 31, of Gray, Louisiana and his wife, Lydia, 23, knew exactly what they planned to name their son long before they even married. They knew they had to name their son Jim Beam, notes The Associated Press. Jim Beam Leathers was born on Nov. 14.
In an interview with Houma Today, Jack said that his parents named him after the famous whiskey as a way to get their parents mad. His father was drinking Jack Daniels and his mother just said, “Why not?” So, they’ve decided to start a tradition of naming children after their favorite drinks.
“If we have another child, our second born will be Evan Williams, after the bourbon. If it's a girl, she will be Sherry, like the cooking sherry,” Jack said.
They enjoyed the theme so much that when they got married, they actually found a Judge Johnny Walker to officiate.
“When Judge Johnny Walker realized that he was marrying Lydia to Jack Daniels, he turned red,” Jack said. “We wanted to get in touch with Judge Walker to notify him that Jack Daniels had a son named Jim Beam.”
Jack added that when he was growing up, no one believed that his name was really Jack Daniels until he showed them his ID. Jim Beam will probably have to do the same when he grows up.
