Chris Rock gave a revealing interview to Frank Rich of the New York Times, covering subjects such as President Obama and his take on Bill Cosby.
He explained that he’s not disappointed in the president’s performance, but he could’ve been better. To paint a clear picture, he used NBA stars as examples.
"Everybody wanted Michael Jordan, right? We got Shaq,” he told Vulture. “That's not a disappointment. You know what I mean? We got Charles Barkley. It's still a Hall of Fame career. The president should be graded on jobs and peace, and the other stuff is debatable.”
Rock used another sports analogy when suggesting what he could’ve done more effectively, saying he should’ve just let everything “flatline” and then started over.
“Just let the country flatline. Let the auto industry die. Don't bail anybody out. In sports, that's what any new GM does. They make sure that the catastrophe is on the old management and then they clean up,” he said. "They don't try to save old management's mistakes...Let it all go to hell knowing good and well this is on them. That way you can implement. You hire your own coach. You get your own players. He could have got way more done.”
He went on to talk about the sexual misconduct allegations surrounding Bill Cosby, only offering the thoughts of “I hope it’s not true.”
He went on to say it’s been a “weird year for comedy. We lost Robin, we lost Joan, and we kind of lost Cosby.
