Fans of ABC’s short-lived Selfie will at least get to see the rest of the show’s first 13 episodes. Hulu will provide fans with the remaining six episodes.
Selfie was cancelled earlier this month and ABC initially said it would let the show’s 13 episodes air in their entirety. However, after seven episodes, the network decided to pull it from the schedule.
Now, creator Emily Kapnek, who also created Suburgatory, has tweeted that the show will get a second life on Hulu. While there’s no word on Hulu ordering new episodes, Kapnek said that the rest of the completed shows will surface on the streaming site.
The Warner Bros. TV production aired at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, paired with Manhattan Love Story at 8:30 p.m. as lead-ins to Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. Manhattan lasted four episodes before it became the first cancelled show of the season.
Selfie stars Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan and Star Trek’s John Cho in a modern retelling of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and My Fair Lady. While the show got off to a slow start, it was beginning to get into a groove, although it was clearly too little too late. And that terrible title didn’t help.
