Robin Williams’ son, Zak Williams, is breaking his silence on his father’s death while in New York on Thursday at the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation fundraising gala.
Although his sister Zelda has been outspoken about their father since his tragic suicide, this is the first time Zak has commented.
"We're doing okay. We're working hard to build our strength and acclimating to the new normal," he told ETOnline. "A large part of what we're doing through this grieving process is giving and spending time focusing on others."
He went on to describe the well wishes the family has been receiving from fans, calling it “remarkable.”
"People shared their supportive words, art, and all sorts of amazing tributes to my father,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zak’s sister Zelda quit social media for a while after internet trolls’ comments were becoming too much for her to handle.
Williams passed away on Aug. 11 after dealing with years of depression and it was later revealed he had been developing Parkinson’s disease.
