Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan, have welcomed their second child together, giving their 2-year-old son Exton Elias Downey a sister.
The couple welcomed a baby girl, although her name is not yet known.
People first reported the news, but the Iron Man star’s rep has not commented.
This is the third child for Downey, as he has also has a 21-year-old son from a previous marriage to Deborah Falconer named Indio.
E! Online notes Downey, 49, announced he was expecting another baby with his wife of nine years via Twitter in July. "I don't know if it's a 'man's world,' but I'm certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl,” he wrote.
Last Thursday while accepting the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards, Downey asked his wife to stand up and gushed about her to the crowd, telling her she was “about to pop.”
“How is she still so darn pretty and functional and mood-stable?” he asked. He added, “the second pregnancy has been extraordinarily tough for me. Self-prescribed mandatory bed rest was of some benefit. At least my milk is finally coming in.”
