MTV is getting ready for its own awards season, setting dates for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards and the top awards show of the summer, the MTV Video Music Awards.
The MTV Movie Awards will take place on Sunday, April 12. Since these awards are long after the more prestigious ceremonies, this one acts more like an after party, with fans getting a voice to pick the most popular movies of the previous year.
As for the VMAs, they will take place at the usual time on Sunday, Aug. 30. The 2014 ceremony took place on Aug. 24 and featured an epic medley from Vanguard Award winner Beyonce. It will be hard for the network to top that.
Beyonce also won three awards, but Miley Cyrus won the top prize for Video of the Year for “Wrecking Ball.”
MTV also scheduled the MTV2 Dan Fest Featuring the MTV2 Fandom Awards for July 9, during Comic-Con in San Diego. It will air on Sunday, July 12.
The mtvU Woodie Awards are set for Friday, March 20 during SXSW. Lastly, the Logo TV Trailblazers event will air on June 28 during LGBT Pride Month.
