Kathy Griffin says E! has offered her 'Fashion Police' gig to replace Joan Rivers

Kathy Griffin sounds like the perfect choice to replace Joan Rivers on E!’s Fashion Police and was rumored to be the network’s top pick a few weeks ago. Now, the controversial comedienne has confirmed that she was offered the gig.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Griffin admitted that E! contacted her, although some scheduling conflicts may stop her from taking it.

“They did offer it to me,” Griffin told the show. She later added, “I don't know if the situation is correct at this time for me or right for me at this time.”

Back in September, it was rumored that E! had Griffin in mind for the job. EW notes that, at the time, Griffin sent a tweet saying that E! had not contacted her yet.

Rivers died at age 81 in September. E! did pay tribute to the Fashion Police host with a special hosted by her daughter, Melissa.
