The comment section can be an infuriating place, filled with either funny or mean remarks. It’s the perfect place for Joel McHale to explore for his new E! pilot.
Comments Section will be a pilot hosted by comedian Michael Kosta, focusing on the snarky comments readers see on major websites. It sounds like a show that will be similar to Comedy Central’s @midnight or even McHale’s The Soup.
According to Deadline, McHale will be executive producing under his Free Period banner with Jason Burns. K.P. Anderson, the showrunner on McHale’s The Soup, will also executive produce, along with Kosta.
This is the first project under a new development deal McHale signed with E! last month. He also agreed to continue hosting The Soup for another two seasons.
McHale will also be returning to Community, which was saved by Yahoo and will appear on Yahoo Screen.
Kosta recently released a stand-up album called Comedy for Attractive People.
