Actress Jennifer Lawrence is speaking out about her nude photos being leaked for the first time, saying that the situation was not only a scandal, but a sex crime.
Lawrence appears on the November cover of Vanity Fair and the young actress opens up about her entire experience, starting off the interview with the cloud of uncertainty she felt when she first learned about her photos being leaked.
She told Vanity Fair “I was just so afraid. I didn’t know how this would affect my career.”
Continuing, Lawrence expressed her anger at the hackers, saying “Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this. It does not mean that it comes with the territory. It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world. ”
The 24-year-old reveals that the pictures she sent were intended for then boyfriend and X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult. She also revealed that she wanted to write a statement addressing the scandal back in August but stopped once she realized she had nothing to explain or apologize for, reports E! News.
Lawrence was just one of the many high profile celebs who had their nude photos leaked in the scandal that has been dubbed “The Fappening.” The FBI is currently still investigating the hacking incident.
