Greer Grammer, Kelsey Grammer's daughter, is 2015 Miss Golden Globes

Bash the Golden Globes all you want, but one of the cooler aspects of it is the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Miss Golden Globe tradition, where they give a young daughter of a major star a chance to shine. This year, it will be Greer Grammer, the daughter of Fraiser star Kelsey Grammer.

The news was announced at the Miss Golden Globe Party in West Hollywood last night. She follows last year’s Miss Golden Globe, Sosie Bacon.

Grammer, 22, has a few credits herself, including a role on MTV’s Awkward.. She made her TV debut in an episode of iCarly. She also won the Miss Teen Malibu title in 2008 and competed in Miss California Teen for four straight years. She just graduated from USC in June.

“We are delighted to have Greer Grammer continue the tradition and have her as our 2015 Miss Golden Globe,” HFPA president Theo Kingma said in a statement. “She’s following in her father’s footsteps in becoming a standout actress and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”

Grammer said she was “flattered” to earn the honor and even kept it a secret from her famous dad as long as she could. “I’m so excited. It’s going to be a wonderful year and so much fun,” she added.

As Miss golden Globe, Grammer will help hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hand out awards.

The 72nd Annual Golden Globes air on NBC on Jan. 11 from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
