The price to cook Thanksgiving dinner for family and friends this year has gone up, but not by too much. As compared to 2013, the cost to put a Thanksgiving meal on the table has increased by about 37 cents.
The average price to put a turkey and all of its delightful side dishes – don’t forget dessert - on the table for 10 people is about $49.41.
Fox Business broke it down for us, with the price of dairy rising over the last year much to blame. Dairy prices have risen 25 cents since 2013, which accounts for the milk we use for our mashed potatoes and even what we use in our coffee after dinner.

Some good news is that the drop in fuel prices will actually effect the price of our meals. Due to savings on energy costs for its processors, flour-based foods will go down 21 cents in price this year.
Reuters reports the results of this study were found by 179 volunteers who checked out non-sale items across 35 states. This is the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 29th annual survey.
The items the shoppers were looking for besides a turkey were sweet potatoes, peas, cranberries, bread stuffing, rolls with butter, carrots and celery, pumpkin pie with whipped cream on it and coffee to top it all off.
