Channing Tatum talks 'experimenting' with drugs in his stripper days, 'bullsh-t' divorce rumors

Channing Tatum covered a lot of ground in his cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, revealing past drug use and addressing divorce rumors from his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum.

In the Nov. 14 issue of the publication, Tatum said he was “experiencing” with drugs while he was a stripper in Florida, the profession that inspired Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL.

"I wouldn't say I was losing myself in drugs because I wasn't doing anything habitually," he said. "Just experimenting. Experimenting, I would say. Never the big ones—crack or heroin. I never OD'd or anything. Never."

He admitted to dabbling a bit with cocaine, but drinking was the main thing. In May he told GQ he’s a “high functioning alcoholic.”

Tatum cleared up what he meant by that he does “things in extreme.”

He explained, "It was something said that wasn't meant to be factual. It was said in context with the glutton side of myself. I'm constantly a flip-and-flop of extremes. I take care of it, to an extent—and then I kind of knock it all down and destroy the sand castle.”

He went on to address tabloid rumors of a divorce from his wife of five years, whom he shares a daughter, Everly, with. "It's all bulls--t. These people just [make it up],” he said. “Some of our family members don't see [it's not true], and they read a stupid thing and don't understand it's a tabloid."

Tatum is currently filming Magic Mike XXL.
