CBS has set its midseason schedule, announcing the start of the end for The Mentalist with Simon Baker. The network has also set the return of its Emmy-winning reality series Undercover Boss.
The Mentalist will start its seventh and final season on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 9:30 p.m. (although that could be delayed due to football). The Good Wife will start the second half of its season on Sunday, Jan. 4, pushing the remaining Mentalist episodes to Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The crime drama will wrap up its run with a two-hour finale on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m.
Madam Secretary with Tea Leoni will also return from a short break on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Undercover Boss will return with three episodes in December on Sundays. On Dec. 14, the show will air at 8 p.m., while the Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 episodes will start at 8:30 p.m. The show will move to Fridays at 8 p.m. on Jan. 2.
CBS also announced the season finales for Survivor and The Amazing Race. Survivor will finish on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m., with a live reunion show after it. Amazing Race will conclude on Friday, Dec. 19.
It was widely expected that Bruno Heller’s The Mentalist would be coming to an end this season. Baker earned an Emmy nomination in 2009 and a Golden Globe nomination in 2010 for his role as Patrick Jane, a former psychic who helps the California Bureau of Investigation in cases. Robin Tunney and Tim Kang also star.
