Audrey Hepburn's grandaughter, Emma Ferrer, makes modeling debut on the cover of Harper's Bazaar

Audrey Hepburn’s granddaughter, Emma Ferrer, has made her modeling debut on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar. Ferrer is the daughter of Sean Ferrer, Hepburn’s son with Mel Ferrer.

The 20-year-old fine arts student spent most of her upbringing in Florence, Italy and unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet her iconic grandmother. Hepburn passed away a year before she was born from abdominal cancer.

Ferrer told Harper’s Bazaar that she agreed to do the shoot because of the “parallel narrative” that it would be shot by photographer Richard Avedon, whose muse was Hepburn.

"I remember seeing a photo of her jumping on a trampoline—I believe this was before I understood that she was famous,” said Ferrer. “But I remember thinking that she looked like a friend I wish I could have had."

Ferrer, who says she wears her grandmother’s cashmere turtlenecks in the winter, said her favorite film of Hepburn’s was Funny Face.

"I've been questioning a lot lately what she means to me. I knew her image, of course, and that I happened to be, by pure chance, related to her. But as a child I couldn't really relate to Audrey Hepburn, the actress. To me, she was family,” she admitted.

“When I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's, I enjoyed it the same way any young girl would,” she continued, admitting she hasn’t seen all of her movies yet. “I've seen My Fair Lady and Roman Holiday, but I suppose my favorite is Funny Face."
