Z Nation, Syfy’s upcoming zombie show, has added Harold Perrineau, Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls, Michael Welch and Kellita Smith to the cast.
According to Deadline, the show will premiere this fall. The plot will focus on a group of travelers headed from New York to Los Angeles in order to transport the last survivor of a zombie plague. The characters hope that this survivor’s blood will lead to a cure, but the survivor carries dark secrets.
Lost alum Perrineau will play Hammond, the leader of the westward group, Variety learned. Scott will play Hammond’s right hand man, Garnett, while Qualls will play the hacker Citizen Z. Welch and Smith are set to play Mack and Addy, respectively, who are wayward travelers who join the group looking for safety.
These new cast members will join Anastasia Baranov, Russell Hodgkinson and Keith Allan.
Zap2it reported that Asylum, the company behind Sharknado, is producing the show. Karl Schaefer will serve as the showrunner and executive producer.
