Bob Dylan planning new album, posts cover of Frank Sinatra's 'Full Moon and Empty Arms'

This week marks the 16th anniversary of Frank Sinatra’s death, so with Ol’ Blue Eyes in mind, Bob Dylan has taken a crack at one of his songs. Dylan is planning another album and posted a version of “Full Moon and Empty Arms” on his site this week as a teaser.

“Full Moon and Empty Arms” is a track that was written by Ted Mossmann and Buddy Kaye, who based the melody on Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor.” Several people have covered it over the decades, but Sinatra’s version is the best known, notes Rolling Stone.

“This track is definitely from a forthcoming album due later on this year,” a rep for Dylan told Rolling Stone. While the title of the album was not confirmed, visitors to BobDylan.com will see what looks like a new album cover. It reads “Bob Dylan - Shadows in the Night,” which could be the new title.

Dylan has been working steadily, releasing his latest album, Tempest, in September 2012. The “Like a Rolling Stone” singer will be performing in Europe this summer, starting with a date in Finland on July 17.
