The wide receiver, who was released last Friday by the Philadelphia Eagles, could soon find a new home in the nation’s capital.
According to ESPN, league sources have said that the Washington Redskins and DeSean Jackson appear to be moving closer to a contract agreement.
Washington D.C. was the first stop on Jackson’s free agency tour and some have speculated that it might be his last.
Redskins’ wide out Pierre Garcon said that he would like for Jackson to join the team.
“He definitely could help us. We definitely need all the help we can get.”
NFL.com reported that the 27-year-old got a physical Monday night, was meeting with the team’s coaches on Tuesday and there is a chance both sides could "seal the deal."
After talk that the Eagles were trying to trade Jackson, who was coming off a career year, the team abruptly released him after an NJ.com article surfaced. The article claimed that the star receiver had ties to LA gang members. Jackson has since denied those claims.
Whatever the case, many Eagles fans were sad to see Jackson go, but even those that were not surely don’t want to see him sign with an NFC East rival.
