Miley Cyrus gives dog Moonie away, says it's 'too soon' after Floyd's death

Miley Cyrus has given away her new dog, Moonie, which was a gift from her mom Trish Cyrus following the tragic death of her beloved dog Floyd earlier this month.

Cyrus announced on Twitter that she found Moonie a new home, writing it’s “too soon” to have a new dog after Floyd’s death.

“Moonie, thank you for giving me so much love, comfort, & peace. It's just to soon for me right now,” she tweeted.

When a fan asked her where Moonie went, Cyrus responded “my friends mom who has a tiny pup 4 him 2 play with Molly After wht happened Im scared 2 have a tiny dog #moonieandmolly,” Just Jared reports.

Floyd was reportedly killed by a coyote. Right after she got Moonie, she tweeted that she was “torn” about having a new dog so soon.

“So torn. I love having little Moonie cuddle w me and Mary Jane but just don't know if I'm ready to love again,” she wrote at the time.

She also has a statue of Floyd on stage during her Bangerz tour.
