Indiana University student Julian Batts is being referred to as the worst Wheel of Fortune player in history after all of his letters were revealed but he lost the round due to mispronunciation.

Batts pronounced “Achilles” wrong when reading the answer, "mythological hero Achilles,” leading him to lose the round to another contestant, Shelby from Texas A&M.

A spokesperson for the show told Today.com, "One of the rules of Wheel of Fortune is when a contestant tries to solve a puzzle, they must pronounce it using the generally accepted pronunciation.”

Batts still went on to make it to the bonus round at the end, winning $11,700, but not before two more snafus.

He gave away another round to Shelby when there were all but two letters revealed and he still couldn’t guess it correctly. Later, he guessed the puzzle as "On-the-spot dicespin” when it was "On-the-spot decision."

Viewers took to Twitter to proclaim that Batts is the “worst” player the game has seen.
