It has been well over a year since Angus T. Jones made explosive comments about Two and a Half Men that eventually lead to him leaving the show he had starred on for nearly decade. He has remained quiet since leaving the show, but recently spoke out against it again.
Jones spoke with KHOU over the weekend, wearing a beard and glasses. At 20, Jones said that he believes that it was not the show he should have made as a Christian, even calling himself a hypocrite for starring alongside Charlie Sheen.
“It was difficult for me to be on the show and be part of something that was making light of topics in our world where there are really problems for a lot of people,” Jones told the station. “I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn’t OK with it and I was still doing it.”
Jones left the show after his contract ended. Before that, he appeared in a video for a religious organization and told people not to watch the show. He later apologized and again said that he wished he handled his exit differently. He apologized to creator Chuck Lorre.
“That’s his like baby and I just totally insulted his baby and to that degree I am apologetic but otherwise I don’t regret saying what I said,” Jones told KHOU.
Jones is going to school in Colorado, but travels to Houston to work with the World Harvest Outreach Church. He added that he’s not giving up on acting and hopes to be a part of a Bible-inspired production.
“There’s a few different productions that like do kind of Bible-based stories,” he said. “Stuff like that.”
Jones’ role on the show had diminished somewhat anyway as Ashton Kutcher took over for Sheen. The show has continued to draw audiences without him and was just renewed again.
