Snowboarding practice was postponed on Monday so workers could try and tweak the complained about halfpipe.
According to ESPN, Shaun White and Danny Davis are just two of the athletes competing in Tuesday’s halfpipe event who have voiced their concerns about the pipe. They have each said that it is too vertical on the sides, which is causing rough landings and making it harder to go into the next jump. Moreover, they are not happy with the grainy snow conditions.
One snowboarder told Yahoo! Sports that the Olympic halfpipe is “garbage” and Davis noted that, "It's the Olympics. It should be flawless. What a lame showcase of snowboarding, and what a lame way to treat the athletes."
White, who was originally set to compete in the slopestyle event as well, talked about the treacherous conditions on that track and withdrew from the race to concentrate on winning another gold medal in the halfpipe.
The 27-year-old snowboarding star is trying to make history and will be going for a third gold medal in the event after winning in both Turin and Vancouver.
