Prince William shocks 12-year-old girl by snapping selfie with her outside Sandringham Estate on Christmas Day

Prince William gave 12-year-old Madison Lambe a shock of a lifetime when he snapped a selfie of the two on Christmas Day. The Duke of Cambridge, 31, took the selfie with Lambe after she visited Sandringham Estate because she was too starstruck to take the picture herself.

Lambe posted the picture on her Facebook page and it has since gone viral.

"I couldn't believe it when William came over to me and I asked for a picture. He just said to me 'you can't beat a good selfie on Christmas Day' and took the picture,” she told The Telegraph.

Lambe and her mother, Paula Scrupps, 38, took a drive from their home in Boston, Lincolnshire to Sandringham to “show our support for the Royal family” on Christmas Day, said Scrupps.

While kids can line up along the wall, their parents aren’t permitted. When Lambe walked up with her mom’s cell phone, the last thing Scrupps expected was for her to come back with a selfie with one of the royals.

Daily News notes Lambe gushed her friends are impressed with the picture and “have been commenting on it.”
