Norwegian TV hosts and comedy duo Ylvis, Bard and Negard Ylvisaker, will be turning their viral video hit, "What Does the Fox Say?," into a children's illustrated book.
Ylvis signed a deal with Simon & Schuster's Children's Publishing to release What Does the Fox Say? to book store shelves before Christmas on Dec. 10, The Telegraph reports.
The video was originally created for the third series of their show I Kveld Med Ylvis (Tonight With Ylvis. The duo's goal was to make an expensive production of the stupidest possible song.
The song with lyrics like "Dog goes woof / cat goes meow" has since become a YouTube hit, with over 215 million views since September, according to The Guardian.
Vegard Ylvisaker said that the illustrated book is "much more than just a spin-off from the video. We actually started the process with the illustrator before we even uploaded the video to YouTube."
He continued, "As we were working with the song it just felt like it had the potential of becoming an interesting book as well, mostly because all of a sudden we found ourselves wondering what does the fox really say?"
