Miley Cyrus opened up in a new interview with BBC's Newsbeat about being a feminist. She said she’s an advocate of telling women to be whoever they want to be.
The Bangerz singer, 20, made the bold statement that she’s one of the biggest feminists “in the world.”
“I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world because I tell women to not be scared of anything. Girls are all beautiful,” she said, E! Online reports.
She went on to talk about double standards between men and women, noting "Guys get to show their titties on the beach, why can't we? I don't understand the double standard of life."
The singer certainly doesn’t hold back in showing what she’s got – with her naked “Wrecking Ball” video and many skimpy outfits.
But Cyrus’ main message to her fans is acceptance.
"I'm for anybody and everything. I don't care what you want to do in your life, or who you want to be with, who you want to love or what you look like,” she said.
"You've got about 105 years on this earth and you should be happy every single one of those,” she said. “There's no reason not to be. As long as you're breathing, you should just find the best in everything."
Huffington Post notes Cyrus has previously declared herself a feminist, telling Cosmoplitan’s December issue, “I’m a feminist in the way that I’m really empowering to women. I’m loud and funny and not typically beautiful."
