British singer Engelbert Humperdinck has had to cancel two shows in the U.S. and Canada due to health issues.
In a post on his Facebook page, the singer’s rep said that doctors told Humperdinck, 77, that he should not fly because of a “trapped nerve in his neck which they are treating.” Since he cannot get to the shows any other way, they will both have to be postponed.
“We apologise about any inconvenience caused and hopefully will have some rescheduling news to announce soon,” the statement concluded.
According to The Star-Tribune, one of the cancelled shows was an appearance at the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minnesota. Refunds are available and ticket holders are asked to call Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.
The Associated Press notes that the Mystic Lake show on Friday was supposed to make up for a cancelled May 11 show. At the time, his manager said that Humperdinck had “a medical emergency.”
The second show cancelled was Saturday’s performance at Thunder Bay in Ontario.
Humperdinck recently worked on a duets album with Elton John, Gene Simmons, Kenny Rogers, Smokey Robinson and others.
