Fans of the hit Broadway show Jersey Boys will see at least one recognizable face in Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation. Erica Piccininni, who starred in the original Broadway production, has been tapped to reprise her role.
The film, like the musical, will follow the life and career of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the group responsible for hits like “Grease” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, Piccininni will be back to play Lorraine a reporter who has an affair with Valli. She’s appeared on TV in The Good Wife and CSI.
The Wrap also confirmed that Kathrine Narducci, who appeared in The Sopranos, will play Valli’s mother. His father will be played by Lou Volpe.
The rest of the cast features John Lloyd Young, Eric Bergen, Michael Lomenda and Vincent Piazza as Valli and The Four Seasons, plus Christopher Walken.
Meanwhile, the show itself continues to be a hit on Broadway, becoming the 16th longest-running show in history last week, notes BroadwayWorld. The show has been seen by approximately 18 million people worldwide.
As for Eastwood, this will be his first film since J. Edgar. He’s also reportedly in talks to make Bradley Cooper’s American Sniper.
