It was surprising that Lindsay Lohan left the Betty Ford clinic and went to a rehab center in Malibu, since it was being reported that she was doing so well there. But her father, Michael Lohan, is revealing that the reason she left was because there’s drugs circulating inside the rehab facility.
As we reported yesterday, Lohan completed a 30-day stint at Betty Ford and she will finish the remainder of her court-mandated rehab sentence at the Cliffside facility in Malibu, which the prosecutors, judge, and attorneys in her case have all approved.
Michael is giving the public a better understanding of the move, telling NY Daily News’ Confidenti@l, “There are drugs all over the place inside there. It was a big problem and that’s why she wanted out.”
He also said his daughter saw someone else in the program relapse, and she doesn’t want them to happen to her.
“When Lindsay was tested, she was clean,” he said. “She didn’t want to be around it and immediately asked for a transfer.”
Cliffside’s founder, Richard Taite, has spoken out about Lohan in the media before, saying she was “walking a slippery slope” after her arrest at a Manhattan nightclub for punching a woman. “She is definitely spiraling out of control,” he said at the time. “She is continually getting into trouble and any reasonable person can tell she needs help.”
