Jason Darling of Austin, Texas is making headlines for his unconventional flavor of lollipops. His candy company is offering breast milk-flavored pops, and they’re surprisingly selling well.
The lollipops aren’t made with real breast milk, just "artificial and natural ingredients” that mock the taste of it. He said he didn’t opt to make them out of real breast milk because it would require “way too much breast milk” and it wouldn’t hold up in lollipop form.
"I had to know what tasted so good it could knock out a screaming infant," Darling told ABC News, admitting he tried some from his "good hippie mom friends.”
"They're selling really, really well," Darling, who started selling them on Monday, said.
His company, Lollyphile.com, aims to "make the most interesting candy in the whole world. Candy right now is really boring. There's been very little innovation."
In the past, they have made other unconventional flavors such as maple bacon and sriracha lollipops.
