Kelly Rowland is revealing a lot about her personal life in her new song “Dirty Laundry,” which is off of her upcoming album Talk A Good Game, produced by The-Dream.
Rowland admits being jealous of Beyonce after their Destiny Child days and opens up about an abusive relationship. She sings that her former boyfriend made her believe the “Crazy in Love” singer didn’t love her and they drifted apart because of that.
"When my sister was on stage killin' it like a (expletive)/ I was enraged, feelin' it like a (expletive)/ Bird in a cage/ You would never know what I was dealin' with/ Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin' it,” she sings, USA Today reports. “Bittersweet she was up, I was down/ No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now? ... Post-Survivor, she on fire/ Who wanna hear my (expletive)?"
She sang about being “trapped” by her ex-boyfriend, and sang, "Kinda lucky I was in her shadow/ Phone call from my sister, 'What's the matter?'"
And another telling lyric includes “Hitting the window like it was me / And still it shattered.He pulled me out and said ‘Don’t nobody love you but me / Not your mama / Not your daddy / and especially not Bey,’” Hiphophollywood reports.
Talk a Good Game will be out on June 18.
